Lead Up

Want to join other youth in your community to make a difference? If so, the Lead Up program is for you!

Youth in the Lead Up program meet online weekly (and in-person monthly, when permitted) and will be responsible for building, facilitating, and executing a community service project of their own design. They will also have opportunities to job shadow at various BGC Durham sites, participate in workshops, and educate and empower other youth in their community.

At the end of the program youth will come away with:

  • 120 hours of community service experience
  • certificate of completion
  • valuable employability, leadership, and problem solving skills
  • confidence needed to take their first steps out into the work force

Any youth who wish to participate in this program should be able to commit to a weekly 1.5 hour zoom meeting and up to 3.5 additional hours of their own time for project activities.
