Summer at BGC Durham
BGC Durham is proud to offer high-quality, in-person summer camps for 8 weeks every summer.

Lunch and Dietary Information
Campers are required to bring litter-less lunch and snacks unless otherwise indicated.
Note: Please keep in mind we do not provide refrigeration or microwaves for children to use.
Our Devoted Staff
We are proud of our exceptional staff, chosen for their genuine interest in children and youth. We employ caring and creative individuals who possess exceptional leadership qualities.
- All staff are required to participate in 35 hours of pre-camp training.
- All staff members have First Aid, CPR, and High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certifications.
- All aquatic staff members are required to have Red Cross and Life Saving Society qualifications.
Great Camp Ratios
Ratio for ages 4-5 is 1:8
Ratio for ages 6-7 is 1:12
Ratio for ages 8-12 is 1:15
Camp Refund Policy
Non-refundable Fee: $50.00 of the camp fee, per child for each week, is non-refundable.
Changes & Cancellations: A $10.00 charge will apply for each child, per session, for:
- Registration changes
- Cancellations
- Transfers
- Requests for registration copies for income tax purposes
Please note: All registration modifications must be done in person.
Notice for Refunds: Refunds will not be provided if less than 14 days notice is given.
Ajax Summer Camp

Breakfast is served until 8:00 am, and it is cereal, not hot breakfast.

BGC Durham’s Summer Camp takes place in a sensory rich environment that is fast paced and stimulating. Inclusion support may be required for some children to participate in program if:
- extra support is received at school;
- they require support at home for basic care;
- engage in behavior that may affect the safety of themselves or others;
- is associated with a support agency;
- is unable to self-propel;
- is not fully toilet trained;
- is unable to self-regulate.
If any of the above apply to your child or you are unsure whether your child will require support, please complete the Inclusion Participant Profile found at bgcdurham.com/inclusion and submit forms to cgenereux@bgcdurham.com.
Requests are fulfilled in the order that they are received and is based off of availability of appropriate inclusion staff. To help ensure a safe, successful, and fun experience, we interview families and children as a part of our registration process, and pair them with the most suitable inclusion staff member to meet their needs. Registration for program is not complete until Inclusion requests have been satisfied. Participants may provide their own support staff to assist if desired. A waitlist will be available once spots are filled.

Rookie Camp will include active and quiet games, indoor and outdoor activities, creative arts and crafts, mini science experiments, story times and much more. Your camper will experience exciting activities with exploration and discovery by using their imagination. But most importantly they will be having fun all day long! | |

Swimming Lesson Fun Day Camp (Ages 6-12)
Campers ages 6-12 years old will have a daily morning swimming lessons as a required part of this camp program where campers will be able to swim and strengthen their aquatic skills in our in-house swimming pool with our qualified Instructors. Campers will also have many fun opportunities through out the day to play and participate in games in the Fun Room, Gamesroom and outside, as well as participate in 3 optional fun swims throughout the week. Camp will be centered on a fun weekly theme. Space is limited. | |

Speciality Camp Hooked (Ages 9-12)
This camp will focus on details about fishing equipment and techniques of casting, tying knots, handling fish and rigging the line with bait. Also, hands-on experience of a fishing trip is planned for everyone to go and try what they have learned. All equipment will be provided. This camp is in memory of Camp Volunteer Facilitator Mr. Bonesso

Northview Summer Camp

Drop off and pick up will be at Northview for all ages.
Special events and bigger activities will be planned for outside at NV.
Breakfast is served until 8:00 am, and it is cereal, not hot breakfast.
Campers will have to bring snacks and a litter less lunch each day.
If weather permits, we will be doing water activities within the individual groups, so towels and change of clothes will be needed on scheduled days but should be available each day.

Teens (Ages 13-15)
Teen Camp is where your older kids spend the day having a blast. Teens will participate in a variety of games, activities, special events and on and off-site adventures. Each week the teens will go on 2 trips. One trip will be a bigger adventure. The teens also go swimming every Friday at Eastview. Throughout the week teens will get to spend time in the tech center, gym, games room, outside and more. This is the perfect experience for teens to meet new friends, socialize, play their favourite activities, sports, and go on adventures they might not otherwise do.
